Flower Pot
The Flower Pot was another design that came to fruition during the Covid-19 lockdowns.
I had been taking care of a number of house plants and noticed how drab and dull the pots looked.
I was drawn to the dainty shape of a daisy and knew I needed to incorporate it somehow to make the Flower Pot truly fun!
Painted plywood allows for this design to be customised to essentially any colour!
Sketches & Design Iteration
My Flower Pot went through a lot of changes as I began developing the design. Initially the Flower Pot did not include any flower shape at all and was merely a design inspired by the Bauhaus style which incorporated a range of geometric shapes.
I then began experimenting with the shape on the top of the plant holder and incorporated the flower shape. This transformed my Flower Pot design and made its name!
Since I had changed the top shape, I decided the legs no longer worked with the new design and decided to turn them into small leaves. These leaves were following the original design by creating an elevation on the Flower Pot however I thought they appeared a little strange.
I finally then altered the leaves slightly by turning them upside down which created a really cute 'blooming' effect as if the flower was sprouting out of the design.
